MOTHER'S DAY IDEAS
Mother's Day is my favorite holiday to plan! I love taking over the planning for this day because I get to celebrate all the fabulous strong women in my life and I look up to them so much! The mothers/aunts/grandmothers in my life are so incredible and deserve so much because they work so hard for me and our family.
Every year I try to do something different that I think they will really enjoy while also keeping in mind who is going to be joining! My mom is always involved but depending on the year my Nana and Aunt Barbara are with us also.
I know Mother's Day is now over but I'm going to go back and go over my last 3 Mother's Day and hopefully give you all some inspiration to celebrate all the loving mothers, or aunts, or grandmothers in your lives for next year!
2016 - New York Botanical Gardens
The New York Botanical Gardens was such a beautiful day and such a nice afternoon. This year included myself, my Mom, my Nana, and my cousin Robert. It was the perfect amount of walking for my Nana, but also she is one of the most active 80 year olds I've ever met! My Nana and Mom really enjoyed looking at the flowers (they love gardening lol) but it was still a fun afternoon for me and my cousin. There was also a huge lawn with a bunch of food trucks and beer and wine truck (so necessary) and it was a lot of fun. I highly recommend!
2017 - Brunch and Museum
This year was just me and my mom! So I decided brunch and a museum it was! I mean its two of our favorite things! It's such a simple idea but was honestly such a great day! We started with brunch at The Standard which was delicious and if you've never been I highly recommend! The Standard Hotel is right on the High Line which is another beautiful place. So we walked down the High Line which takes you right to the Whitney Museum! This was perfect for us because neither of us had ever been and had been wanting to go! My mom and I love going to museums and just exploring around the city so it was a perfect day for us!
2018 - Applewood Winery
A winery was a great idea for my family! This year we were joined by my Nana, Mom, Aunt, and my cousins. At the particular winery they had a special wine and cupcake pairing for Mother's Day which every one loved. Unfortunately it was raining so everything took place inside, but wine definitely keeps everyone happy! We did our wine tasting and sat down, ordered a bunch of food, and enjoyed each other and the live music they had playing!
