OILS - YOU NEED THEM!

OKAY YA'LL lets get talking about face oils! Don't be afraid of oils! Embrace the oil!

I know a lot of people are unsure about oils or have oily skin so they stay away, but I'm here to tell you YOU NEED THEM! (Lets see how many times I say oil in this post!)

A question I get a lot from my friends is "why do I need oils" and "what do oils do?" Face oils have so many great benefits that I decided to write a whole blog post about it!

Oils can help with:

  • fine lines
  • wrinkles
  • textured skin
  • dryness
  • minimizing pores
  • oiliness
  • dullness and uneven skin

So if you're like me, more than one of those reasons apply to you so oils are definitely necessary!

You may also be wondering where do you put the oil in your skin care routine. Personally, and now i'm no professional but usually I like to put my oil on before or after my moisturizer, or sometimes I'll even mix it into my moisturizer. It really all depends on my mood. So chances are I'm going to bed looking like a grease ball.

Okay so lets break this down by specific oils and what those specific ones target. Keep in mind, I haven't tried all of these personally because of my skin type and for reference I have dry skin. I'll let you know down below if I've used any of these oils.

First up is the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate. (I use this one!) This one is good for dryness or dullness and uneven texture and it can be used on any skin type! I use this one probably every other night and I like to mix it into my moisturizer. I've been using this one for about a year now and I really would recommend. After I use this I wake up with smoother and healthier looking skin!

Next is the Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil. I have talked about this before on the blog and it is one of my favorites. This oil is good for fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, and minimizing pores! This one is good for all skin types too! This one is especially for for wrinkles and it is definitely good for preventive measures! This oil is a little different because it has a retinol so it's best to use at night and it's not for use while pregnant! I feel like I just had to warn ya! Also remember to always use a sunscreen the next day after using a retinol!

  • Side note - a retinol is derived from Vitamin A and it basically helps reduce the signs of fine lines and deep wrinkles by rejuvenating the look of collagen depleted skin.

Jose Maran Argan Oil Light is another great oil. Now don't get this confused with the classic Argan Oil from this brand. This light version is particularly good for oily skin and has proven to help the balance of skin! So all my oily friends I hope you're listening! This one is nice too because you can use it under your makeup as a primer! Now I have never used this one particularly because I don't have oily skin, but I have used the classic Argan oil and I really like that one!

Another popular oil I hear a lot about is the Tarte Maracuja Oil. Personally, I've never tried this one before but have only heard good things and I'm just a huge fan of the brand Tarte. This one is really good for dry and dull skin. This oil will give you just a nice healthy, non oily, glow! I know people that mix this into their foundation to give it more of a luminous look too!

The last oil I will talk about is Radha Rosehip Oil. I have never used this oil but I've heard really good things about this one too! It's suppose to be good for dry, blemish prone, and mature skin. If the Skinny Confidential recommends it then I feel comfortable recommending it too!

I hope I have helped some of you on this oil journey and please let me know down below if you use any of these or if you decide to give any of them a try!

Also I said oil 30 times in case you were wondering!
